About: My background is in Computer Science--specifically database sysems. I work on applied and applications-oriented research problems. I am involved in a number of projects where the common requirement is to provide a widely distributed user community the ability to register their data and tools; provide online (portal-based) access to these distributed resources, including integrated access to heterogeneous, distributed data; and, provide the ability to orchestrate remote services using workflow-based software.
My recent digital government project, funded by the US NSF, was on spatiotemporal analysis of 911 call stream data, for 911 calls in the State of California.
