Facebook Integration

Crowdvine's Facebook integration allows you to find and connect with people at the dgo.2009 conference. You can even see which of your Facebook contacts will be attending.

For some reason, the Facebook integration didn't work for me. I had one contact there who should have come up in the list (Andrea Kavanaugh), but that didn't happen. Did anyone else have similar problems?

I'm not a fan of crowdvine's facebook integration. But when I tested it, it worked. Has Andrea provided her facebook contact info to crowdvine? If not, you won't be able to connect with her.

Ahh, you're right, I guess that's what happened.

So, if the user of Facebook provides access, the integration is ok?

If (1) the user has a Facebook account; (2) the user has provided the facebook profile info to crowdvine and (3) the user already has a friendship relationship established with you through facebook ... then crowdvine's facebook integration will simply tell you whether or not the person is attending the conference.

If we believe our users are heavily networked through facebook (which I don't believe) then this is a fantastic feature. If users are not networked through facebook, this feature is sort of like candy after dessert and a 7 course meal.

The code required to improve this integration to something useful is about 80 lines of php.

hi all,
I did link my facebook and crowdvine, but I don't know if it's still not letting others connect to my facebook from crowdvine.
(Sameer, please let me know if it's still not integrated when you get a chance to test it again.)
Andrea

if you've linked your crowdvine to facebook, there is something wrong.
